Dakota Supply Group names Gearman electrical segment manager

Dakota Supply Group (DSG) has named John Gearman as its electrical segment manager. Gearman will take over the position from Mike Tupa, who was recently named DSG’s chief segment officer. In addition to his role as electrical segment manager, Gearman will continue to serve as DSG’s automation segment manager.

Gearman has worked for DSG since 1985. Starting out in the automation control panel shop, Gearman transitioned through the company, working in positions at the city desk and in outside sales until he was named automation segment manager in 2005. He took on the role of Sioux Falls branch manager in 2010.

“John’s background in the automation industry and his leadership experience made him the ideal person to fill this role,” Tupa said. “The future of our electrical segment is in good hands.”

DSG is one of the Midwest’s fastest-growing distributors of innovative electrical, plumbing, HVAC/R, communications, utility, metering technology, automation and waterworks products. Established in 1898, the employee-owned company has 16 DSG locations throughout Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota; five DSG/W.A. Roosevelt locations in Wisconsin and four DSG/MDM Supply locations in Montana. With more than 550 employee owners throughout its organization, DSG’s headquarters is in Fargo, North Dakota.
