DistributED: NAED’s 3Q Economic Outlook Provides Optimism

The NAED 3Q Economic and Industry Sector Outlook will be released on Friday, October 27. As always, thanks to a partnership with Schneider Electric and Hubbell, the Outlook is free to NAED member companies.

Chris Kuehl, and Economist with Armada, helped NAED complete this quarter’s Outlook. Kuehl says that while it may seem chaotic with interest rates rising and inflation high, plus the virtual stand-still in Congress right now, “We’re actually in a calm period compared to what we have seen in past years.”

Kuehl describes the Outlook as “optimistic” right now, despite media reports, and says most of the sectors that impact electrical distribution are performing well.

“4Q is not a particularly busy time of year for construction right now,” Kuehl says. “And construction is still strong. And all of that infrastructure money that was allocated by Congress in 2022 is starting to hit the economy now.”
