DistributED: Tom Click Testifies at Congressional Hearing

Tom Click, President and CEO of Patriot Aluminum Products, testified at the Joint House and Senate Small Business Committee titled, “Prosperity on Main Street: Keeping Taxes Low for Small Businesses”. The hearing focused on making the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, the TCJA, permanent to continue to enable Main Street to thrive by providing much-needed tax breaks to small businesses. The TCJA is set to expire at the end of this year, and Congress has not set a date for a vote on the permanent extension.

Click represented small businesses that have been able to expand and hire more quickly because of the TCJA. He discussed how it benefits not just the companies, but the people who work at the companies. Click then joined the DistributED with tED magazine podcast to talk about the experience and what the TCJA means to him and how NAED helped him prepare for the Committee meeting.
