Eaton Aerospace Facility in Jackson, Mich., Named Supplier of the Year

CLEVELAND – Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton’s aerospace facility in Jackson, Mich., was named Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems’ Subcontracts Supplier of the Year during a ceremony April 18 in Los Angeles, Calif. Three additional Eaton aerospace facilities in Georgia, Michigan and Pennsylvania were repeat winners of Northrop Grumman’s Platinum Source Preferred Award. The awards recognize Northrop Grumman’s suppliers for attaining distinction in product quality, on-time delivery, customer satisfaction and robust, lean processes.

“Having multiple manufacturing facilities recognized by Northrop Grumman for supplier excellence is an extraordinary achievement for the employees of Eaton,” said Mike Gallant, vice president of manufacturing operations, Eaton’s Aerospace Group. “Northrop Grumman sets exceedingly high expectations for their suppliers, and year after year our employees continue proving that they’re up to the challenge of delivering exceptional customer satisfaction. We consider it an honor to be a part of Northrop Grumman’s supplier team.”

The 2012 Subcontracts Supplier of the Year award was presented to Eaton’s Fluid and Electrical Distribution Division in Jackson, Mich., for demonstrating consistently superior performance and product quality.

The 2012 Platinum Source Preferred Award was presented to Eaton’s Fluid and Electrical Distribution divisions in Toccoa, Ga. and Glenolden, Pa.; and Fuel and Motion Control Systems Division in Grand Rapids, Mich. This is the seventh year that the Grand Rapids facility has won the award and the sixth year for Toccoa and Glenolden facilities.

“These awards have names of companies on them, but it’s the people at those suppliers whom we’re recognizing for their dedication and commitment,” said Lisa Kohl, sector vice president of global supply chain for Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems, which hosted the awards ceremony. “Their performance has earned our special trust, and they play a critical part in Northrop Grumman’s vision to be the most trusted provider of systems and technologies that ensure the security and freedom of our nation and its allies.”

“Northrop Grumman’s drive to provide quality products extends to our suppliers, which makes them indispensable teammates,” said Art Lofton, sector vice president of global quality for Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems. “At Northrop Grumman, we like to say ‘quality is personal,’ and these suppliers make it that way in the products and services they provide.”
