Emerson Electric has acquired Avtron Loadbank from a unit of Morgenthaler Private Equity (MPE).
MPE did not disclose what it was paid; it acquired several Avtron operations in November 2007.
Avtron Loadbank will be folded into ASCO, a business unit of Emerson Network Power.
Rockwell Automation – SoftSwitching Technologies of Middleton, Wisc., which provides solutions to voltage sag, is now a part of Rockwell. Terms were face down; the acquired company will be added to the Automation Control Products and Solutions segment of Rockwell.
Voltage sags, according to Bob Lennon, Rockwell’s vice president of industrial components, typically last less than two seconds. “Brief power disruptions account for up to 70% of all unscheduled downtime in manufacturing,” Lennon noted.
