Graybar Settles Lawsuit Against Former CFO

By Lisa Brown

Graybar has settled a lawsuit it brought against former chief financial officer Beatty D’Alessandro alleging he improperly took confidential computer files and trade secrets when he resigned.

Terms of the settlement were not disclosed. The lawsuit was filed in April in the U.S. District Court in St. Louis.

D’Alessandro worked for the Clayton-based distributor of electrical products for 29 years and was a member of its board of directors. He resigned in December and took a job at Redmond, Wash.-based Univar Inc.

Graybar alleged in its suit that D’Alessandro improperly download company information and Graybar sought the return of “confidential, proprietary and trade secret data.”

In a one-line statement today, Graybar said the lawsuit has been settled. “Today, Graybar settled the lawsuit it brought against its former CFO Beatty D’Alessandro, on terms mutually acceptable to both parties.”
