Chicago area Electrical Distributors and Manufacturers embarked upon Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, for the 89th Annual NAED Lake Michigan Club Conference.

More than 89 main registrants and their families gathered at the Grand Geneva Resort and Spa from Thursday, June 14th thru Saturday, June 16th. The event kicked-off with an evening “Welcome Reception” for families Thursday evening.

Ken Gallagher, Lake Michigan Club Chair and CEO of Paramont EO, kicked-off both Friday and Saturday Business education sessions. This year’s keynote speaker on Friday was UnleashWD President & Founder, Dirk Beveridge. Beveridge’s session centered on the Innovative Distributor Mindset and the need for businesses to evolve and change. On Saturday morning, attendees heard from Lt. Col. Robert Darling, United States Marine Corps. Darling lead attendees through the importance of Crisis Leadership and the importance of decision-making as leaders of our organizations.

The Annual W. Kinander Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament took place on Saturday afternoon on The Brute course, with more than 75 golfers and industry friends taking part. It was followed by the ritual and always fun Electri-Flex Putting Contest.

According to conference attendee, Steve Yoder, VP Strategic Accounts with Minerallac Company, “In today’s world sometimes we need [to be] reminded of the value and benefits of time spent with face to face networking. This event is an excellent opportunity to benefit and grow from just that kind of opportunity.”

Ed Fuller, Regional Vice President–Central with Legrand, goes on to state, “Having missed the conference the last couple of years, I was reminded how special this event is and how nice it is, providing an excellent opportunity to reconnect with old friends and develop new contacts while enjoying all the terrific business and social events scheduled throughout the conference.”

And Brad Selby, Division Manager with CED, gave his impression of the event: “In a world dominated by passive electronic communication there are fewer and fewer opportunities to spend quality time with the people that impact your business. The Lake Michigan Club Conference gives you the chance to do so in a fun setting that encourages camaraderie and interaction. One of the best weekends of the year.”

Midwest area Electrical Distributor and Manufacturer industry companies and peers, mark your calendars for next year to celebrate the 90th Annual Lake Michigan Club Conference, taking place from June 20th-23rd 2019 at Grand Geneva Resort & Spa. Look for next year’s registration to open up online at www.naed.org in late March 2019. Come and join us to celebrate in a rich history of helping to “connect” industry peers!
