IDEA has exclusive on web storefront solution

Owned 50-50 by the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) and the National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED), the Industry Data Exchange Association (IDEA) said last week that it had become “the exclusive provider” to electrical distributors of the “robust web storefront solution” from Unilog Content Solutions.

Unilog’s catalog information material management offering (ICIMM2) “enables distributors to manage catalog content, push the content out to customers via “one or more mediums,” and enhance the search engine capabilities provided to site visitors.

Birmingham, Alabama-based electrical distributor MayerElectric Supply is an early adopter of iCIMM2.

“I knew we needed to enhance our eCommerce capabilities quickly, and when I found out that IDEA and Unilog were teaming up to provide a web storefront solution pre-populated with IDW data, it was a slam dunk! I’ve been impressed with the quick turnarounds and responsiveness of the implementation team, and would definitely recommend this solution to other electrical distributors,” said Mr. Barry Carden, vice president and chief information officer at Mayer Electric Supply.

IDEA said with the manufacturer-owned and validated product information available through the Industry Data Warehouse (IDW), it will help customers populate the content management portion of this solution.

The iCIMM2 integrates with several ERP systems, including Epicor Eclipse, Infor SX Enterprise, JD Edwards and Netsuite. It also works with logistic and payment companies like FedEx, UPS, Bank of America, Google Checkout and PayPal.
