Jayasinghe Named Global Director of Applications Engineering and Technical Customer Support at Evolu

SARASOTA, Fla. /PRNewswire/ – Mel Interiano , CEO of Evolucia Inc. (OTCBB & OTCQB: ILED), announced the appointment of Lalith Jayasinghe as the company’s Global Director of Applications Engineering and Technical Customer Support. Jayasinghe holds a Ph.D in Experimental Solid State Physics and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering. He brings 12 years of research and product applications experience to Evolucia Inc. He will be responsible for global product data and testing, field and application engineering and technical customer service. Jayasinghe will report to Paul Montesino , Global Vice President of Marketing and General Manager of the LED Drivers, Controls and Accessories Division.

Before joining Evolucia, Jayasinghe was a Senior Applications Engineer at Osram Sylvania. There he led marketing, R&D and manufacturing teams through all phases of product specification, development and launch for the company’s LED product families. From 2008 to 2010, he served as a new technology Commercial Engineer providing technical support to some of Osram Sylvania’s key OEM accounts.

From 2005 to 2008, Jayasinghe worked at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY as a Senior Research Specialist for the prestigious Lighting Research Center (LRC). There he designed, set up and executed laboratory experiments to develop metrics and testing protocols for LED technologies and systems. At the University of Oklahoma, Norman OK, Jayasinghe served as research assistant in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering where he was responsible for solid state device fabrication (VCSELS), growth of PbSe/PbSrSe mid-infrared VCSELs using Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE), operation and maintenance of Intevac Gen II MBE system (Ultra Hight Vacuum System).

Jayasinghe received the Presidential research award for the contribution of outstanding research work to the national and international community European Fellowship to pursue his Ph.D. He is a member of Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA), Sigma Xi, Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and the International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE). He is also Lighting Certified through the National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions (NCQLP).
Jayasinghe has authored or co-authored 16 published scientific articles in numerous physics and scientific journals.
