Chicago, Ill. – Today Operation Homefront accepted a generous $50,000 donation from Klein Tools to support ongoing efforts to provide emergency financial aid and other assistance to military members and their families.

Klein Tools, a leading U.S. hand tool manufacturer, originally pledged to donate $25,000 to Operation Homefront this year in conjunction with the company’s Limited Edition Camouflage Pliers Promotion. In the promotion, Klein Tools transformed the look of its most popular 2000 Series Side-Cutting Pliers with an exclusive plastic-dipped camouflage handle design and a distinct black-oxide plier head with a special laser-etched “Support Our Troops” logo. The Klein promotion was such a success that it decided to double the donation.

“Our camo pliers promotion provided us an opportunity to give back to the service men and women who have sacrificed so much,” said Megan Klein, associate marketing manager of Klein Tools. “We hope this also raised awareness of all the different ways Operation Homefront helps our military and their families.”

“We were amazed that Klein Tools decided to double their contribution,” said James Michael, executive director of Operation Homefront of Illinois. “The $50,000 donation will go a long way to provide financial or other necessary assistance to military families in these challenging economic times.”
