Legrand Product Lines Achieve IDW Programmatic Excellence

WEST HARTFORD, Conn., — Legrand North America announced their achievement of Excellence within the Industry Data Exchange Association, Inc.’s (IDEA) data certification program.

IDEA’s Industry Data Warehouse (IDW) certification program has long been a way for electrical manufacturers to provide secure access to accurate and comprehensive product information for electrical channel distribution partners. The program ensures that distributors have access to high quality data on the products they sell without having to maintain a multitude of databases on their own, and LNA’s participation is a key component in the company’s commitment to supporting its distribution partners and the electrical community.

All nine Legrand product lines in the IDW, encompassing more than 16,000 SKUs, exceed the minimum standards for Compliance, a measure of data comprehensiveness, and for Excellence, a measure of data quality. In assessing products, the program evaluates 43 critical data fields for each product. All LNA products in the database exceed IDW’s requirement of a minimum score of 95 percent for both Compliance and Excellence, and some product lines achieved 100 percent for both metrics.

LNA products within the IDW certification program span several company divisions, including Building Control Systems (Wattstopper), Electrical Wiring Systems (On-Q/Nuvo/Pass & Seymour,Cablofil/Wiremold), Data Communications (Ortronics), Commercial AV (Middle Atlantic) and the adorne collection.

“At Legrand we are committed to offering our customers nothing less than best-in-class customer service, and a critical component in that mission is providing them with the resources they need to deliver the same high level of service to their clients,” said John Selldorff, CEO, Legrand, North America. “That’s why merely meeting the IDW standards wasn’t sufficient — we listened to our customers, took the task seriously and were determined to exceed the requirements, which we did. We will continue to take steps toward achieving full data certification across the product lines we currently have in their system.”

IDEA is the official technology service provider and eBusiness standards body of the electrical industry, and is a partnership between the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) and the National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED).
