BIRMINGHAM, Alabama – Rexel USA Chief Executive Officer Brad Paulsen announced that Wes Smith, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mayer, will serve as Senior Vice President – Chief Strategy & Growth Officer for Rexel USA effective January 1, 2023.
“Wes Smith is one of the most respected and influential leaders in the electrical distribution industry, and I am pleased to know he will continue to provide tremendous value to our organization in this new role,” Paulsen said. “Wes will be focused on opportunities to build and acquire the technology, services and capabilities we will need to be the best electrical distributor in the country.”
“I am excited for this new challenge, and I look forward to focusing on the growth of Rexel USA,” Smith said. “I have always enjoyed trying to look into the future and plan for what lies ahead, and that’s exactly what I’ll be doing as we move forward.”
Paulsen also announced that Mayer Executive Vice President & Chief Sales Officer Mike Kidney will assume the role of President of the Mayer banner effective January 1, 2023. Kidney has served in several roles at Mayer over his 21-year tenure, most recently as Regional Vice President and, since 2020, in the Chief Sales Officer role.
