The NAED Honorary Life Membership Award is open to retiring distributor, manufacturer, and service members by recognizing the accomplishments that these members have made throughout their careers to NAED and the electrical distribution channel.
This year, the association honored three people.
Arthur Griswold of Granite City Electric worked in electrical distribution for 42 years, and has been an NAED EPEC Course reviewer since 1990. Last September, the EPEC program graduated its 15,000th student, and Griswold has helped students or reviewed the work for a good number of those graduates. He’s also the first-ever EPEC Gold graduate, which he accomplished in 1989.
Daniel Jones was an active member of NAED for more than 35 years, serving on a variety of committees before retiring last year. Jones says he knows that working with NAED meant his performance numbers were shared with the industry and competitors, but industry veterans were supportive of the work he did to improve opportunities for everyone.
David Oldfather retired from IDEA in March. In his role as CEO, Oldfather played an important role in shaping the industry’s future through technology and data.
For the past several days, tED magazine has provided coverage of the acceptance speeches at the awards ceremony.
