This past summer, GE announced a DIY-installable Wattstation
to be sold at Lowe’s stores.
Last week, news came out about The Home Depot selling the EVlink
indoor EV charging station from Schneider Electric.
Lowe’s is also carrying the Schneider Electric EVlink on its
website, and at the same price as The Home Depot.
While the ZDnet.com’s article on the EVlink said, “Don’t try
to install this thing yourself, though. Schneider Electric recommends using a
licensed electrical contractor,” a downloadable installation guide was
available on both the Lowe’s and Home Depot sites. There was no such advisory
from Schneider in either the online listing or the installation-guide.
