Summit Electric Supply reached its 35-year milestone on August 15. The company started in 1977 with a single service center is now ranked the 18th largest electrical distributor in the nation.
In the last 35 years, Summit has grown from just five employees to nearly 550 employees operating in 21 U.S. markets. Summit has also expanded globally with a service center in Dubai, UAE and has three industry focused divisions selling products around the world.
Founders Victor R. Jury Sr., David Meredith, and Victor R. Jury Jr. had a vision to provide the best service in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This vision soon became the foundation for Summit’s continued success as the company expanded domestically and internationally. Quickly earning a reputation for dependable and reliable service, with some of the most knowledgeable and best trained employees in the business, Summit rocketed from $400,000 in annual sales in 1977 to an anticipated $400 million in 2012.
Jury Sr. and Meredith have since retired, but President and CEO Victor R. Jury Jr. still drives Summit’s core value of exceptional service to both customers and fellow employees.

Summit celebrated its 35-year anniversary with associate luncheons and other team activities in all 22 of its service centers. Associates also received commemorative gifts to mark the occasion.
