This year’s 7th Annual Waterman Cup was held Wednesday, August 23rd in Milton, Ontario at Rattlesnake Point Golf Club. Team Canada comprised golfers Bruno Ardito, Jayson Taylor, Brock Horton, and Jonathan Kwant, while Team USA comprised industry golfers Butch Mistretta (Team Captain), Ray Womack, David Whitaker, and Brian Flanigan. After a cool and crisp start to the morning, a very heated yet “friendly” match quickly took place out on the course. This year’s Waterman Cup North American Challenge Cup resulted in Team USA taking the victory, with a resulting score of 4.5 to Team Canada’s 1.5 points.
Brian Power (Electro-Federation Golf Committee) stated, “It’s great to see the growth in popularity of this event over the past seven years. The Waterman Cup North American Challenge has become an integral part of the annual Electro-Federation Golf Tournament. This competitive but fun Ryder Cup-style event between teams of four from NAED and Electro-Federation Canada has fostered improved relationships and networking between the two groups.”
Team USA currently holds a 4-2 lead in the matches with one tie. Plans are already underway for next year’s event in August 2018.
Womack states, “The Waterman Cup, in addition to being a spirited golfing competition, helps cement the growing relationship between NAED and Electro-Federation Canada. The friendships I have made and the networking that I do with our Canadian peers has been invaluable to myself and my company.
