The Good Stuff, Vol. 172

Welcome to “The Good Stuff,” where we highlight positive news and ways that NAED employees and member companies go above and beyond to give back to their communities! If you have some “Good Stuff” that you would like to share with tED, find out how below.

In this issue of “The Good Stuff,” Service Wire invests in the next generation through “Liz’s Copper Kids” program.

CULLODEN, W.Va. — Service Wire is celebrating the success of a new family-centered annual event, Liz’s Copper Kids, a program created to support team members’ children while reinforcing the company’s commitment to education, family, and community.

Launched by Liz Weisberg, the program is designed for children in Pre-K through 12th grade, and focuses on investing in the next generation by helping students start the school year with the confidence and the tools they need to succeed. Liz has long been passionate about education and investing in future generations, both at Service Wire and in the community.

“I believe in each Copper Kid’s ability to succeed in school and in life. Fostering a lifelong love of learning starts early, and we wanted to create something that helps capture the excitement of a new school year,” Weisberg said. “New beginnings are special, and from the first day of preschool to the first day of senior year, every child deserves to be celebrated. Our aim with these back-to-school events was to give each of our kids the supplies and tools that will help them be successful this year.”

These Back-to-School celebrations were held for Service Wire team members in West Virginia, Texas and Arizona, where families chose items based on grade-specific needs, supporting students from preschool through high school. Additionally, Service Wire extended the impact of the events by donating school supply bags to community partners at each location.

“As a parent, I know the start of a new school year is about more than checking supplies off a list. It’s about helping children feel confident and ready to learn,” said Mary Brown, Service Wire’s Director of Marketing. “Seeing Service Wire invest in our kids in such a thoughtful way was meaningful for families across the company and a great reflection of our values.”

Liz’s Copper Kids is the newest addition to Service Wire’s commitment to supporting team members and their children, joining the Service Wire Scholars program, which provides scholarships to team member’s children pursuing higher education, the Tuition Reimbursement program for team members, and the company’s robust Internship opportunities that provide hands-on learning opportunities.

With approximately 400 children served from the inaugural effort, Liz’s Copper Kids represents a growing investment in the future.
