The Good Stuff, Vol. 47

Welcome to “The Good Stuff”, where we highlight positive news and ways that employees of NAED-member companies go above and beyond to give back to their communities! If you have some “Good Stuff” that you would like to share with tED magazine, find out how below.

In this issue, we’re looking at Atlantic Coast Electric Supply.

Atlantic Coast Electric Supply (ACES), headquartered in Summerville, S.C., felt called to help the victims of Hurricane Ian after it made landfall as a category 4 hurricane on September 28. On October 11, employees put their heads together for ways the ACES family could step up and help a fellow coastal community during this time of crisis. It was decided that for the remainder of October, employees could donate to the Florida Disaster Fund and ACES would match employee contributions by 2X.

During this time, ACES employees made personal donations, and thanks to John Marshall, the President and CEO, ACES matched the employees by two times the total. John Marshall stated, “Thank you to all who contributed. I’m sure it is appreciated and will be put to good use in the recovery efforts. I am proud of all of you!”

In addition to the monetary donation, ACES employee, DJ McDonald from the Columbia, S.C. branch, along with his eldest daughter and 14 others from Lexington, S.C., donated their time and talent by driving down to the Venice, Florida area to help a couple with their home’s cleanup.

The couple’s homeowner’s insurance did not cover all the damage incurred and had no means to go anywhere except stay in their damaged home, which was full of moldy sheet rock and holes in the roof. The couple could not have been more appreciative of the group’s efforts. Marketing Manager, Hillary Doherty commented, “How excellent it is to see such great efforts made by our team to help those in need.”

ACES recognizes that the gift of giving is not all monetary donations, but the gift of time and talent too. These efforts are often needed in our local communities and far beyond.
