The Good Stuff, Vol. 87

Welcome to “The Good Stuff,” where we highlight positive news and ways that NAED employees and member companies go above and beyond to give back to their communities! If you have some “Good Stuff” that you would like to share with tED, find out how below.

Today we’re looking at Border States:

FARGO, N.D. — On December 11, Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity (LAHFH) celebrated a Home Dedication Ceremony for the Amuri family. This dedication marked the conclusion of Border States’ second annual build with LAHFH and a fresh start in a new home for the Amuri family.

This year’s build kicked off with a First Nail Ceremony in May, which took place in the parking lot at our Branch Support Center (corporate office) in Fargo. The first phase of the build took place in the lot before the house was moved to its permanent location in Dilworth, Minnesota, for the completion of the build.

Throughout the summer, Border States employee-owners volunteered their time and talents on the build. The partnership with LAHFH and the unique opportunity to host this build in the Border States parking lot provided a great way for employee-owners to live out our objective to do good in the communities we serve and make a hands-on difference for the Amuri family.

Border States is set to kick off a third annual build in spring 2024.

LAHFH is part of a global, nonprofit housing organization operated on Christian principles that seeks to put God’s love into action by building homes, communities and hope. LAHFH is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide through constructing, rehabilitating and preserving homes; by advocating for fair and just housing policies; and by providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions.

Habitat for Humanity was founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, durable place to live in dignity and safety, and that decent shelter in decent communities should be a matter of conscience and action for all.
