Vista Celebrates 30 Years

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. — Vista Professional Outdoor Lighting is proud to be celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. Since 1984 the company has been designing, engineering, tooling and manufacturing American-made architectural and landscape lighting products in its Simi Valley, Calif., location.

As a child growing up in Cuba, Vista president and founder Dan Cuñado always checked products for the tiny inscription stating where they were made. He loved seeing the phrase “Made in America” staring back at him, valuing the quality the words embodied. His passion for American-made products eventually led him to start his own company Vista Professional Outdoor Lighting.

“When my family and I founded the company three decades ago, we took pride in creating lighting products that bore the ‘Made in America’ label. Thirty years later, we’re still going strong, yet we haven’t sacrificed our high standards,” says Cuñado. “Even as we have grown to serve customers internationally, we’ve made a promise to continue providing superior handcrafted fixtures made right here in the U.S.”

Since being founded, Vista has evolved into one of the leading innovators in the lighting industry. The company designs, manufactures and supplies a wide range of lighting fixtures, transformers, HID ballasts and accessories for lighting professionals. All fixtures are built and shipped within 24 hours of receiving an order.

“Because we keep all raw materials on hand in our production facility, we can turnaround finished products within 24 hours,” explains Cuñado. “That also allows us to be more environmentally conscious. We don’t waste any raw materials in the process, because everything can be reused.”

Customers can also rest assured they are receiving products that have been carefully tested. Vista products go through a strict regimen of climatic, weather, electrical and life cycle tests before going into production. Additionally, thanks to a vertically-integrated manufacturing process and in-house testing and customer service departments, customers can find accurate answers and product assistance quickly and easily.

“As we celebrate 30 years in 2014, we’ll certainly be reflecting on the past successes, but we’ll also be looking to the future as we strive to make our products and processes even better. We’ll also continue to be thankful for our distributors and end users. Our success is a direct result of their support,” Cuñado says.
