ROCKFORD, Ill. — Waldom is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Shiring to the Waldom Advisory Board, further strengthening the company’s commitment to strategic leadership and industry collaboration.
Shiring brings more than two decades of executive leadership experience spanning sales, marketing, operations, engineering, manufacturing, and global business strategy. Throughout his distinguished career, he has held leadership positions with Reliance Electric, Rockwell Automation, and ebm-papst, building a reputation for driving growth, strengthening distribution partnerships, and leading high-performing international organizations.
“We’re honored to welcome Mark to the Waldom Advisory Board,” said Don Akery, CEO of Waldom. “His deep understanding of the electronic components industry, combined with his global leadership experience and strong channel expertise, will provide valuable perspective as we continue to grow and expand our impact across the supply chain.”
During his tenure at ebm-papst, Shiring successfully transformed the company’s North American distribution channel strategy, enhancing brand awareness, expanding sales, improving margins, and strengthening distributor engagement. In 2010, he relocated to China to serve as General Manager for ebm-papst China, overseeing both sales and manufacturing operations. Upon returning to the United States, he served as Executive Vice President before becoming President of ebm-papst North America in 2015.
Most recently, Shiring served as CEO of the Air Technology Division for the Americas region and as a member of the Executive Management Board for the ebm-papst Group. In April 2026, he assumed his current role as Global Head of Regulatory and Public Affairs, leading the company’s worldwide regulatory strategy.
In addition to his executive leadership roles, Shiring has been an active contributor to the electronics industry through his service on the Board of Directors for the Electronic Components Industry Association (ECIA), where he most recently served as Chairman, as well as the Board of Directors for EDS.
Shiring holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Hartford. His extensive experience leading global organizations, developing channel strategies, and advancing industry collaboration makes him a valuable addition to the Waldom Advisory Board.
