Amazon Provides Update on the Success of Amazon Business

Amazon is reporting more growth for its B2B offering, Amazon Business, with two significant updates.

The online giant usually does not disclose a lot of information about Amazon Business, but on Wednesday, January 4 the company included three updates on its progress in a press release on its success stories during 2016.

While tED magazine has already reported Amazon Business created more than $1 billion in sales in its first year in existence, Amazon has updated its number of business customers to 400,000.  tED magazine reported last May that Amazon Business had 300,000 customers.  On January 1, 2016, Amazon reported having 200,000 customers, meaning the number of Amazon Business customers has doubled in the past year.

Also, Amazon is reporting it now has more than 45,000 different sellers supplying products on the Amazon Business website.  It is the first time Amazon has released the number of companies partnering with them to provide products. The 45,000 companies are giving selling tools to help them post their products on the Amazon Business site.

And finally, Amazon has announced that Amazon Business has expanded into Germany for it’s first international expansion.

The press release also included information on the holiday season, stating that Amazon sold more than 28 million items on Cyber Monday alone.
