French Gerleman promotes Stanfill to president, French to serve as CEO

St. Louis-based distributor French Gerleman has appointed Mike
Stanfill to serve as president of the company.

Stanfill is taking over for William French, who will now
serve as CEO.

Mike Stanfill Stanfill previously held the role of vice president of industrial and commercial sales. He has more than 24 years of experience in engineering, management and executive positions in manufacturing and wholesale distribution He has spent 18 years with French Gerleman and has served in product management, tech center management and held two divisional sales vice president roles. Prior to joining French Gerleman, Stanfill worked in engineering, R&D and product management at Unilever and Everest & Jennings.

In his new role,
Stanfill will focus on the company’s growth and profitability goals and will be
responsible for vendor relations.

fifth generation, family owned company with an experienced management
team,” Stanfill said. “I remain committed to the mission and vision the
French family has established their business upon, and I look forward to
building on the successes our employees have achieved.”

In his role as CEO, French will continue to be a key part of the company’s leadership team. He will oversee the company culture and key strategic directions. According to the company, this change in role will allow French more time for community service and time with family.

Gerleman and its ability to address the needs of our industrial, commercial and
construction customers,” French said. “Mike brings years of
successful sales and marketing experience, and his leadership will greatly
enhance our efforts to continue to profitably grow our businesses.”

French began his career with French
Gerleman in 1975 with a position on the inside sales team and then went on to
several operations management positions. In 1982, French was named vice
president. In 1988, Frenche was promoted to president and his father James W.
French was named CEO.

French Gerleman is a family-owned supplier
of automation, datacom, electrical, power transmission and safety products and
services with locations in St. Louis, Columbia and Washington, Mo., Quincy,
Ill. and Kansas City, Kan.
