IDEA’s Mary Shaw Elected to Board of ETIM International

ARLINGTON, Va. — On June 20th, Mary Shaw of IDEA was elected to the executive board of directors of ETIM International. She and Frank Jaegtnes from Norway were selected by ETIM International’s General Assembly to replace board members Eric Piers and Sverker Skoglund, whose terms had ended.

Shaw is looking forward to applying her three decades of experience in standardization, to bring a fresh perspective on the needs of the emerging ETIM market in North America.

“It is an enormous honor to be elected,” said Shaw. “This is a unique opportunity to leverage both my experience and perspective to serve the needs of the expanding standards market in North America.”

Paul Molitor, CEO and president of IDEA, agreed that Shaw’s appointment is significant.

“It’s not often you get a chance to capture a governance seat on a global standards committee,” he said.

ETIM is an international product classification model for the electrotechnical, HVAC, sanitary, shipbuilding and general construction sector.

Shaw’s tenure as a board member began on June 20th, and will run for three years, at which point she will be eligible for re-election for another three years.

Congratulations go out to Mary. For all who know her, a well deserved honor. Incorporating ETIM into what IDEA and our industry does today will be a great thing, and I am glad Mary will represent that effort.
