NAED Honors Individuals, Companies With Annual Achievement Awards

NAED has honored three individuals and three companies for their work to improve our supply chain and their invaluable contributions to the National Association of Electrical Distributors and the electrical industry winners.

This year’s honorees include:

Dick Waterman received the Arthur W. Hooper Award. This honor is presented to an individual who has led an exceptional career in electrical distribution spanning many years.
John Spoor of State Electric Supply received the Distributor Distinguished Service Award. This award is given in recognition of outstanding and dedicated service to NAED and the electrical distribution industry.
Denise Keating of DATAgility, Inc. received the Associate Service Award. This award is presented to an individual who has consistently been active in promoting and supporting the tenets and goals of NAED.
Omni Cable Corporation received the Industry Award of Merit. This award is presented in recognition of a company or individual in the electrical manufacturing business that has been exceptionally active in promoting and supporting the wholesale electrical distribution industry.
Van Meter, Inc. received the Distributor Excellence in Training Award. This award is presented to a company that has been exceptionally active in the area of training and development in their company.
Littelfuse, Inc. received the Manufacturer Excellence in Training Award. This award recognizes an associate company that has been exceptionally active in the area of training and development to improve the electrical distribution channel.

 

The awards ceremony also included a closing speech from outgoing NAED Chair Glenn Goedecke, who spent his year as chair using the theme “Connecting forces through the channel”. Goedecke used his time as chair to discuss the importance of the supply channel, the impact of Millennials, the importance of remaining relevant during a transformational age, and the need for long-term strategic planning.

Goedecke introduced incoming NAED Chair Larry Stern of Standard Electric Supply. Stern will be touting the benefits the NAED provides as one of his key themes throughout the next year.

Stern also announced to the crowd at the breakfast ceremony that Dan Dungan of Springfield Electric Supply will become the NAED Chair in 2017.
